Sow Cincy is an equipping ministry that started with the heart-stirring by God to Matthew and Christen. When we look at all the issues creeping into our cities and in our country it boils down to the question, “where does our hope come from?” Racial injustice, drug overdose, fatherlessness, poverty, inequality among people are all looking to be solved, but as people, we are forgetting that this is and always will be a spiritual battle. Evangelism and social action are two sides of the same coin. Social action meets the needs but ignores the eternal salvation. And evangelism addresses salvation but misses the immediate needs.

We were given the vision to see the Church (and the local members) be energized in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28). We know that Christians across the U.S. specifically are not sharing the gospel, not due to malicious intent, but rather may not know how to share or how to defend the Gospel. We teach skills and practical abilities in an open space for people before going out in their community.

We have a heart for Avondale. A beautiful neighborhood, sandwiched by two major universities (the University of Cincinnati and Xavier) and surrounded by three hospitals (UC Health, Shriners Hospital, & Cincinnati Children’s), that tends to get a bad reputation. We love the Church in Avondale and we want to see the Church pour its love and light into this area.

And Sow Cincy was born. A ministry to equip every member to sow seeds for the kingdom. We provide free and customized educational training for evangelism and discipleship. We want to see the discipleship of Christ multiplied in Avondale and greater Cincinnati over the next 30 years to, ultimately, bring glory to God.
